What is IMAP?


IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol and is a protocol used to read your email. IMAP differs from the other popular email protocol(POP3) in that your messages remain on the server as well as being downloaded to your client and it supports folders. If you are configuring your IMAP client as your choice (or Proxy), the IMAP server name is imap.myrealbox.com.


What is POP?


POP stands for Post Office Protocol and is a protocol used to read your email. POP3 differs from the other popular email protocol (IMAP) in that your messages are downloaded to your client then are deleted from the server. This saves space on the server and allows you to store messages on your hard drive and avoids exceeding your disk quota on the server. If you are configuring your POP client as your choice (or Proxy), the POP server name is pop3.myrealbox.com.


What is SMTP?


SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol and is a protocol used to transfer messages from server to server. If you are using your favorite POP or IMAP client, you will need to enter smtp.myrealbox.com for the SMTP server or outgoing server when configuring the preferences of your client.
