2. Use these expressions to give directions. Go straight and go down mean to continue moving in the same direction. They are sometimes followed by on or to. Turn right and turn left mean to change direction toward the right or left. They can be followed by on or at. On your/the right and on your/the left mean that something is located on the right or left side.
